Cardinal Village (CV) is the largest single development in Orleans’ history. It is expected to contain approximately 5,000 homes and 20 acres of commercial development. CV is bounded by Cardinal Creek to the west, Highway 174 to the north, Frank Kenny Road/Ted Kelly Lane to the east and the southern boundary ends at approximately Wilhaven Drive.

The Cardinal Creek Community Association (CCCA) and the Cumberland Village Community Association were invited by Tamarack Homes Ltd and Councillor Stephen Blais to participate in a Cardinal Village Community Association Workshop on August 30, 2012. This workshop is not an official meeting under the Ontario Planning Act but rather an opportunity to obtain early views and perspectives. M.P. Pierre Lemieux and a member of Councillor Monette’s staff also attended the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to obtain the CCCA’s feedback on some high-level development principles (see attached document) that will be applied to the Cardinal Village Environmental Assessment process, Secondary Plan, Plans of Subdivision and perhaps a Community Development Plan.

The CCCA has requested that our views be shared with the public at an open house tentatively scheduled for September 24 or 25 and another public meeting with detailed plans scheduled for late October. We encourage all Cardinal Creek residents to attend these meetings to shape the future of the community in your back yard.

As more information becomes available, we will share it with the Cardinal Creek Community.
