Royal Ridge Park Update – The City of Ottawa has informed the CCCA that the contract for the construction of the Royal Ridge Park was awarded to James Landscaping in the value of approximately $200,000. Construction should start this fall and be completed by Fall 2014, completing this park one full year ahead of schedule.

Park 18A – The City of Ottawa draft Budget has allocated $80,000 to design and open a new park Cardinal Creek Park (18A). To date the park grass has been cut to create an active play area for children and it is expected to be top soiled and seeded this fall or next spring. A feasibility study is expected to be conducted to enhance access to the park and to develop a detailed park design in 2014. This will advance development of this park soccer field a few years ahead of schedule.

Cardinal Creek Community Park (CCCP 18B) – Now that the portion of Trim Road next to the CCCP has been opened, the final phase of this park development ($430 K) can be completed in 2014. The CCCP is the largest park in Cardinal Creek. It should also be noted that the City is going through the process of retrieving drawings and other necessary documents from the estate of the consultant who unfortunately passed away, and once these matters are cleared up, the City will hire a consultant who can continue and complete the final design phase for the CCCP.
