The Cardinal Creek community cleanup was a success, with nearly 40 participants in total! We are happy to say that this is one of the most well attended community clean up we have organized in the recent years. We cleaned up Varenne Park, Royal Ridge Park, the Karst area and the ravine between Springridge North and Royal Ridge. The volunteers literally picked up a few tons of debris of all kinds (metal, tires and garbage), and it has all made its way to recycling or the landfill.
We would like to thank the volunteers for their hard work. We thank our supporters and sponsors: Councillor Bob Monette, the Subway Restaurant and Gabriel Pizza (both at the Watters Road Mall), for the free food and refreshments. Lastly, we thank the City of Ottawa for their quick response in picking up after we were finished.
Le nettoyage communautaire de Cardinal Creek fut un succès, avec près de 40 participants au total! Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer que ce fut un des nettoyages communautaires les plus accourus dans les dernières années. Nous avons nettoyé le parc Varenne, le parc Royal Ridge, les alentours du Karst et le ravin entre Springridge Nord et Royal Ridge. Les volontaires ont ramassé quelques tonnes de débris de toutes sortes (métal, pneus, détritus), et le tout a été envoyé soit au recyclage, soit au dépotoir.
Nous remercions les volontaires pour leur travail acharné. Nous remercions aussi nos supporters and commanditaires: le Conseiller Bob Monette, le restaurant Subway et Gabriel Pizza (du mail de la rue Watters), pour la nourriture et les rafraîchissements.
