The Cardinal Creek Community Association (CCCA) successfully completed its “Sprucing up Springridge Beautification Project » on Saturday, June 2 from 8:00 a.m. to noon thanks to its partnership with Laporte Flower and Nursery (The Laporte family), Perry the Painter (Mazzuca), Councillor Bob Monette, Dianna Muir (CIBC) and 20 community volunteers.
In the picture above are Councillor Bob Monette, Sean Crossan, CCCA President, Jean Laporte and Alexis Drouin (Laporte’s Nursery and Flower), Perry the Painter Mazzuca (red shirt), Naim Ghawi (V-P, CCCA), Rob Dunphy (Secretary, CCCA), Jason Courteau (Treasurer CCCA), Martin D’Anjou (Director Environment, CCCA), Gary Stow (City of Ottawa Surface Ops Crew), Diana Muir (CIBC) and volunteers from the Cardinal Creek Community, including high school students from Sir Wil/Beatrice Desloges and St. Pete’s performing their volunteer hours.
The CCCA would like to extend a special thank you to the City of Ottawa East End Surface Ops crew managed by Pierre Ouellette who took extra efforts to clean up the garbage and cut the grass in the Springridge entrance area. In an effort to to keep our community clean and beautiful we would kindly ask residents to call By-law Services at 311 if anyone sees people/contractors dumping in this area. Please provide By-law with their license plate number or home address.
The three weather beaten Springridge entrance signs were repainted and a « Welcome to Cardinal Creek/Bienvenue a Cardinal Creek » was added to brighten up each sign and the garden areas in front of the signs were replanted with beautiful red roses and other flowers in order to spruce up our community. A new garden entrance area was also completed in Springridge North on Watters Road. In Cardinal Creek « Yes We Can/Oui on peut » make our community a better place to live, work and play.
Cardinal Creek residents should also stay tuned for the grand opening of the Park 18-B splash pad and the Park 18-B renaming contest as this is the largest park in Cardinal Creek. Please visit www.cardinalcreek.org for details.
