On Saturday June 16, there was a red ribbon cutting ceremony wherein Cardinal Creek children, CCCA Webmaster Tristan Blais, Councillor Bob Monette, CCCA President Sean Crossan, Liberal MPP Grant Crack (Glengarry Prescott Russell), CCCA Director Martin d’Anjou (left to right) officially opened the Park 18-B splash pad. Sean Crossan, CCCA President noted that « this is a great day for the kids of Cardinal Creek as they can now cool off and enjoy the hot days of summer that are upon us ». Both Councillor Monette and MPP Crack remarked « the children of Cardinal Creek will enjoy this splash pad facility for years to come. It is a pleasure to be here with this vibrant community to open this new facility. »

The CCCA also launched a contest to chose a name for Park 18B. This park is the largest park in Cardinal Creek as it is 10 acres in size. Cardinal Creek residents can send their suggestions to president@cardinal creek.org. The suggestions will be submitted to the naming committee and the best name will be announced in September 2012.
